Pensioner Alert
If you are a pensioner or a DVA veteran then you are eligible for free hearing services from the Government. To take advantage of this service you need to get your GP to sign a voucher application to the Office of Hearing Services.
What is "top up"?
"Top up" hearing aids have additional features but are not essential to meet clinical needs. If pensioners or veterans choose "top up" hearing aids they will be required to pay the difference in cost.
The changing face of the hearing industry
There are two major developments which we feel you should be aware of:
Firstly, hearing aid manufacturers are either establishing new clinics, or purchasing existing clinics, and selling their products through them.
What is a maintenance fee?
When we talk about maintenance in the context of Government funded hearing aids, we are referring to an annual fee which covers the hearing aid user for batteries and repairs.

The candle is material shaped into a cone and dipped into wax. It is placed against the ear and lit at the non ear end.
